Our Farm is managed and maintained solely by the family and this includes the grandkids that help socialize the foals. The farm is located in Fort Collins, CO. Bobbi’s passion for horses started almost at birth.Bobbi received her Associate Degree in Horse Husbandry from New York State University. After another four years she decided to pursue her second passion in veterinary medicine and returned to college at Bel Rea Institute where she received her Associates Degree as a Veterinary Technician. In 1986 Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital employed her, where she enjoyed a rewarding and fulfilling career for seventeen years! The experiences and knowledge gained working at the university and teaching students will always hold a very special place in her heart! Having two incredible parents, Robert and June Proulx who encouraged her to do anything she put her mind to, she decided to return to her true passion of raising horses. Bobbi’s first grandson, Trenton, provided a great excuse to buy him a horse, a miniature horse of course. We found Fawn in amongst a group of unruly Draft horses but stood solid as a rock surrounded by small children. Thus began the newfound adventure into the miniature horse world. With Bobbi’s veterinary and horse husbandry background she hoped this new area could really fulfill the desires of her heart, as well as allow her a solid foundation. Coming from Academia she knew that she should research her new venture, so it was off to the Nationals and from there she began her search for her new herd. The horses you see here were hand picked from a wonderful group of reputable breeders with conformation and disposition being a priority. ILLUSION FARMS is dedicated to breeding and nurturing only the best quality miniature horses. As a passion of the heart with beauty always being the eye of the beholder, we continue to strive for elegant refined conformation, unbeatable dispositions, flowing impressive movement and fabulous color!! We believe this is crucial to the quality of the modern miniature horse and our breeding program. We began a search to find the best broodmares to compliment our ORION Grandson herd sires!! We believe we have chosen herd sires and broodmares that possess a unique presence, modern look, miniature horse guidelines, refinement, correct conformation, show quality producing pedigrees and a fluid motion to captivate its observers!!!

Bobbi would like to dedicate this site to her parents, Robert & June for their undying belief in her. To her daughter’s, Lindsey & Ashley and her grandson’s, Trenton & Kain for living there lives with a mother and grandmother that lives and breathes horses. To her friends, Wendy, Tracey, Laura, JoAnne. Kathy & David, who stand by and believe in her no matter what.

Bobbi and her friend Laura would say (about horses), “If it’s too dark to see them, too cold to touch or watch them and we’re too tired to talk about them, we’ll be home!!”

It is only appropriate at this time to praise all of the members of the AMHA for their kind and generous nature. We have been truly blessed with a wonderful group of fabulous mentors!
